About

My hope is that those drawn to my wearable art will appreciate the intersection between realistic and abstract forms I’ve captured, and that my moments of discovery may become yours.

Inspiration is in each moment where discovery is present.

Observing nature through a lifetime of collecting keeps me engaged. I form structures by combining elements found in natural objects, speaking to a moment of discovery.

My work draws from a moment of discovery.

I walk and discover a rock eroded by sand and sea, a pod from a eucalyptus tree, or red maple leaves against an azure sky on a crisp, fall day. The excitement of an ‘aha’ moment engages me when the practice of craft opens new avenues to explore. Such moments are reflected in my work, found along my travels local and global.

Observation and collection merges with fine design and craft.

In my Richmond, Virginia studio, I work to translate these discoveries into timeless pieces, merging both realistic and abstract forms. Exploring these natural forms, I create wearable art to evoke stories of discovery. I work in sterling silver, combined with natural found elements. Forging and casting metal with my prized finds is like telling a personal story through my work. I hope my love of making is transferred to those objects that will then be worn by others.
